My travel to the future

If I could travel back in time, I’d like to travel two thousand years into the future, and even if it sounds a little pessimistic, I’d like to see how the earth is no longer dominated by humans, I’d expect humans to be extinct because of the way we live. I would like to see the planet stop being polluted and urbanized and where all species can live without being conditioned by us. I would like the ocean to be able to return to life to its full extent, so that there is no longer the canity of dead zones that are growing exponentially in our times due to pollution derived from human activities, which is slowly destroying oceanic life.

I think this is going to be our future, as I find it difficult for us to endure many more centuries at this rate of energy demand we have, of extracting natural resources and predation of the territories, so I think we will cease to exist by our own actions, But I don’t see it as a negative thing, maybe we’ll do our cycle on Earth and it’ll go back to balance.

My future Job: psychotherapy

 

In the future, I would like to work on something related to psychology: psychotherapy. I have always wanted to work on something that involves having relationships with others, and this work interests me a lot because in this way I can also help people and contribute a little in society, which is one of the things I want. This is a job that is usually done in a private consultation, in consultation of the public area, homes, or there is also the possibility of doing it on certain occasions somewhere outside, which can give a naturalness that I would love to experience. I would like to work somewhere other than Santiago, because this country is too centralized and many territories that are also part of our country are left aside, and also because I’m a little tired of this city moving at a bit of a stressful pace. I don’t really know what the salary thing is, and I don’t want to worry yet, but it’s obviously going to be an issue to consider later because we all need to have a salary that allows us to live well, and if this doesn’t go along, I intend to see other ways to generate income with some things I like to do.

My experience with a new sport: Padel

 A lot of my life I’ve been involved with sport, and specifically tennis, a sport that I’ve been involved with 100% for many years, and now I practice it less even though I compete for university. These last months, I have known a sport that has been massing little by little in this country and in the world, the Padel, a sport that is too entertaining and that I want to continue knowing and learning. It is similar to tennis, but the court is closed with glass, and smaller. If you don’t know him you can watch videos on youtube or practice it, as it is too entertaining and it is not difficult to play at a basic level. Because the ball in play bounces off the crystals and returns to the court the points that are played can be eternal, and very intense, which makes it a lot of fun. I’m training several times a week and I would like to compete, as many tournaments are taking place in Chile and around the world.

Psychology

At first I was not very sure about the university career, I entered with some doubts and I did not know if it was really mine, but with the passage of time and semesters, I can say that I loved this discipline and I really want to dedicate myself to this. Since I was a high-performance athlete at first I was very interested in the sports area of psychology, so I remained linked to the area of sport. This interest began to slip away and I began to like other areas, such as clinical psychology, neuroscience, and educational psychology. In my life I would like to be able to practice in these three areas, although for now my priority is to specialize in the clinical area, and to be able to do psychotherapy.

The clinical area is also a very large world, where there are many areas of work, depending on the population you want to work with or with certain problems of interest. I’m not entirely sure what I want to work with inside the clinic, but I’m interested in some topics, like addiction. Addictions are an intense search for some reward or relief through some substance or actions. Some examples of addictions can be: alcohol, cannabis, cigarette, video games, social networks, etc. This topic is very interesting for me and I am willing to investigate a lot to try to help people who suffer from addictions, a problem that is extremely unadaptive for life.

My favorite concert

This is the first concert I went to, that of the Chilean rapper CEVLADE, in 2018. It’s actually the only one I’ve been to, but even if I went to other shows from now on, I think this will still be my favorite. He is an artist who listened when he was a teenager and I keep listening, who has reinvented himself and continues to create songs of admirable quality. His lyrics and melodies have come a lot to me and this concert was very exciting for me, because it was listening to a musician from my childhood, and to one of the main exponents of rap music in Chile.

Post #1: A country I would like to visit.

I would like to visit Colombia. It's a country that I consider wonderful and visited twice before, for reasons of sports competition. I was fortunate to know different cities in that country and I was delighted by the great number of beautiful landscapes, the kindness of the people, and their cultural diversity. I got to know its capital, Bogotá, which, like many capitals, is a little stressful and influenced by work and consumption. There are other cities to visit like Valledupar in the north, or Pereira in the south, which are cities with very beautiful landscapes, with many corners to visit and people who relate in a way that we are not used to, in a much closer way. Food is another element of the country that I loved, they cook a lot of banana in different ways and very tasty. Colombia is also known for being one of the main coffee producers, and I could see some farms, such as Salento, was amazing and delicious. It’s definitely one of my favorite destinations to visit.
